Personal coaching

There's many reasons someone might come to coaching. Something in life may feel difficult, confusing, stuck or out of balance. There may be difficulties making sense of an experience, or to be understanding how to change a recurring pattern, work through a decision, rebuild confidence, faith, self-esteem or to improve a relationship, find direction, or to simply have a thinking partner or sounding board to think about the important things through with someone.

At other times nothing may be particularly wrong. Coaching can also be a place to understand yourself more deeply, develop your strengths and capabilities, improve how you live and work, pursue something meaningful, or explore what you want the next part of your life to look like.

Personal coaching can be highly affective and beneficial for many reasons. This kind of space gives a place with where to slow things down and make sense of what's going on, and to raise awareness of the most important things in life, and how to positively adapt to life, and make sustainable changes.

Together, we can explore what may be happening beneath the surface, organise thoughts and experiences that feel tangled, notice patterns and possibilities, and develop more considered ways of coming back to yourself, your relationships and your life.

Ways to work together

We’ll typically begin by exploring what’s happening and what matters to you. I work from client-centred and client-directed approach, where I’ll meet you where you are, and honour your pace, perspective, rhythm and current reality.

Sometimes we might slow things down to make sense of yourself or an experience. And at other times we might work through a practical decision, build a plan, explore a strategy, or get creative through role-play, perspective shifts and exploring different scenarios.

I draw on coaching, hypnotherapy, reflective and relational approaches, alongside mindfulness and developmental frameworks. We’ll also pay attention to what’s happening in the body and your present-moment experience, bringing in embodied and somatic awareness.

Together, we’ll adapt the pace, communication style, structure and level of challenge to what feels useful and appropriate for you. I’ll stay alongside you as you explore, experiment, learn and grow.

At times, we may improvise, test different perspectives, mind map, role-play conversations or physically map out situations that supports you to notice familiar patterns, practise different responses and discover new ways to be navigating life.

  • confused trying to understand yourself, your identity and way through life in this moment

  • feeling stuck, lost, uncertain or at a crossroads

  • dealing with stress, tension, pressure, overwhelm or a difficult period

  • navigating grief, loss, separation or significant change

  • noticing patterns in your behaviour or relationships that you want to understand

  • making an important decision

  • struggling with confidence, self-belief, inner worth, or boundaries

  • problem solving or troubleshooting nuances and complexities

  • exploring (or re-exploring) values, beliefs, fears, desires, needs and wants

  • love, and emotional and relational awareness

  • trying to find a healthier balance between work, relationships and the rest of life

  • wanting accountability, structure or somewhere to make sense of competing priorities

  • feeling that life is broadly okay, but wanting to learn, grow or explore it more deeply

If you don't have an idea about your life goals, or confused about where to begin, how to resolve any issues and challenges you're facing this is all okay, because as we begin your coaching sessions you'll quickly begin getting greater clarity.

If you'd like to discuss any specific matter, please get in touch and we'll chat it through.

What are you experiencing?

The above are just a few pointers as to places where you could begin your coaching journey. All of life is welcome in the coaching space, including anything that's feeling difficult to express or understand and put into words. This is all a part of the journey. Together, we can explore, inquire, question and turn things over at your own pace in your your own time whilst making sense of what's emerging, and what to do with that.

Getting started

Online · Phone · In person

Sessions and arrangements will vary depending on the type of work you're exploring.

Fees, cancellations, confidentiality, communication and professional boundaries are agreed clearly before we start.

I have a limited number of supported-rate places available if financial costs are prevent somebody accessing the work.

Personal coaching is developmental support. Trauma-informed practice means difficult experiences can be approached with sensitivity and appropriate boundaries; it is not a replacement for emergency, medical or specialist clinical mental-health care. And I do not provide any legal, financial or clinical advice.

How I work

From me

Presence · Curiosity · Confidentiality · Honesty · Compassionate challenge · Useful feedback · Clear boundaries · Accountability without judgement

I’ll listen closely, ask questions, share what I notice and challenge something when that seems useful.

If I have a relevant idea, framework, exercise or piece of information, I may offer it.

You’re free to take what helps and leave what doesn’t.

From you

There is no requirement to be having the “right” answer. In some occasions there simply may not be clear or right answers. There's only the answer that's coming through in that moment.

I do ask for honesty about what’s happening, the willingness to explore, the responsibility for the choices you make, and to share feedback when something isn’t useful.

We're in a working partnership together. Where you bring the content to the meetings and sessions, and I'll be facilitating the process. After some time you'll learn how to coach and facilitate your own process to be self-learning, healing and growing.
